Liu YuLu,born in July 1959, chairman of council of Shanghai Institute of Technology.
Professor Liu got his bachelor and master’s degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University from 1978-1984. He took doctoral courses in Institute of mechanics of Shanghai Polytechnic University. He was a senior visiting scholar in University of California, Berkeley. He successively took the roles as the deputy director of Shanghai Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. Vice secretary of the party committee in the institute of engineering and architecture of Shanghai Polytechnic University, associate dean of the science college of Shanghai University, dean of the graduate school of Shanghai University, director of the office of party committee of Shanghai University, director of the president’s office and the assistant of the president of Shanghai University. He was the vice president of Shanghai Institute of Technology from February 2005 to July 2014. From July 2014 to September 2015, he took the role as the president of Shanghai Institute of Technology. Since September 2015, he is the chairman of the council of Shanghai Institute of Technology.
Professor Liu is mainly engaged in the study and research of fluid mechanics and its application. He has achieved a lot through his research of swift current theory and environmental fluid mechanics. In 1996, he got listed as a member in “Plan for Cultivating Hundreds of Talents for National Engineering Development”. He received “Special Allowance from State Council, China” from 1997 and in the year 1998, he was selected as one of the “Young Experts of Outstanding Contribution” at the national level. He was honored with the third class municipal award of technical progress in Shanghai and the third class of national scientific and technological progress award. The textbook he compiled was granted the second prize for its excellent quality at Shanghai Municipal Level. In addition, he was titled as “Shanghai Outstanding Young Teacher” and “Pioneer of New Long March” by shanghai municipality and “outstanding core teacher” by China ministry of education.
